ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Miftah Ismail assured Chinese IPP officials on Friday that their concerns would be addressed and resolved as soon as possible.

The finance minister presided over a meeting at the Finance Division on the issue of payments to Chinese IPPs.

The meeting addressed the issue of outstanding payments to Chinese IPPs in Pakistan, as well as other challenges they face. The finance minister stated that the CPEC is a flagship project of friendship between Pakistan and China and expressed the current government’s determination to provide all kinds of facilities to Chinese investors.

MoF urges Power Division to address the issue of excess profitability in CPEC IPPs.

The finance minister also established a committee comprised of representatives from the Finance and Power Divisions, as well as the CPEC, to oversee the project.
